Spring Break in New Orleans

It's been a while since I've posted last, but I wanted to share what I've been up to lately (besides massive amounts of homework and writing my senior thesis!). Since my sister is currently in grad school at Vanderbilt, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to venture over to the south for delicious food and relaxation. First stop: New Orleans, Louisiana!

Zara Winter Catalog

Zara hardly ever gets it wrong, and their new winter catalog is no exception. Add to that the fact that they finally have an online store and it's clear my shopping addiction is here to stay. Colder Weather

To my readers in colder weather climates: take note! While making my daily rounds through the internet for fashion inspiration, Sarah Jessica Parker reminded me exactly how to do winter right—with color!  She was on Live! In NYC this morning and paired aqua tights with a Valentino dress and a pair of seriously amazing Jimmy Choo pumps.  Winters in Hawaii and SoCal haven’t exactly given me the best excuses to wear tights during winter, but I’m getting on this trend anyway solely for the fact that it adds a fun pop of color in a completely unexpected way.

SJP picked her tights up at American Apparel, but good news for you is you can get a pair of tights at practically any mall, well, ever. Will you be wearing colored tights this winter?

Holiday Fast Track

The holidays are by far my favorite time of year.  End of story.  I love nothing more than drinking hot chocolate by the fire, opening holiday cards and personally cannot wait to pop in my new Michael Bublé Christmas album (don't worry, I'll wait until after Thanksgiving).  With the holidays quickly approaching, I can see no better excuse to go shopping for some new festive dresses, especially because it is entirely appropriate at this time of year to get decked out in tons of sequins, metallic fabrics and patent leather like it's your job.  Thus I present to you 12 days of dresses!  Yes, I realize that they are not all dresses, but come on, embellished shorts and asymmetrical skirts are an exception! From elegant dinner events to casual christmas parties, I hope you'll be able to find some inspiration from my picks.

Outfit Envy

I've been dying over these inspiration photos all day, tearing through my closet to see if I have anything that even remotely resembles Taylor Tomasi-Hill's asymmetrical yellow Thakoon skirt from the photo above--I don't. However, I've never been one to give up that easy, and I am on a serious skirthunt to find something like it...let me know if you have any leads!

Rain Delay

It's my understanding that most people dread rainy days. I can completely understand this ideology, especially if you need to be on your A game for an interview, people driving approximately 10 miles per hour makes you late for class, or you have a new pair of heels you've been dying to wear. If those don't apply to you, I think that a great pair of rain boots could very well change your frame of mind about those days when the rain just won't let up. Steal Her Style: Kendall Jenner

I'm just going to say it--of all Kardashian Fashion, I like Kendall Jenner's the best. It's young and fresh, and probably has something to do with my undying love for mint green. Needless to say I love this look, completed with metallic accessories which give the outfit so much more dimension. This could really work at any time of year--just add tights!
