Fashion Envy

posted on: 11.30.2010

There are times when I come across an editorial and get a serious case of fashion envy. I'm obsessed with this spread mainly for it's mixing of textures. Who knew fur, leather, silk and tulle could go so perfectly well together? That being said I think some of these looks are very attainable.  I'm already envisioning wearing my fur scarf (seen here) with a leather jacket and silk dress.

Sunday Best

posted on: 11.29.2010

Since Thanksgiving isn't celebrated in London, my friends flew in and we cooked traditional Thanksgiving food(and far too much of it). We played tourist the rest of the weekend visiting Westminster Abbey, riding the London Eye and having high tea at the Chesterfield Hotel.  I dressed up for tea in my H&M dress, Alice + Olivia belt, BCBG cardigan, F21 necklace and tights, Juicy Couture gloves and Dolce Vita boots.

How did you celebrate the long weekend?

Big Red

About a week ago I posted Zara's November Lookbook full of great basics and amazing leopard prints.  I stumbled upon Zara's Evening Lookbook just in time for the holidays and am pretty sure I'll be making my way to the Zara store in a matter of days in search of this red party dress.  There's nothing better than metallic dresses, full skirts and a bold red lip to complete the perfect holiday look.

Holiday Fever

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, the holiday season is officially upon us and I for one could not be more excited. Although Thanksgiving isn't celebrated here in the UK, my friends and I have planned to cook a traditional meal, turkey included, and dress up in something festive. Here are some of the items I'm lusting over this holiday season...

When In Rome

posted on: 11.22.2010

Rome is one of those cities where you can feel its history just by wandering through its streets. I spent the three days I had there eating amazing pizza, visiting the sights like the Trevi Fountain and eating far too much gelato. A word to the wise: don't bother packing a pair of heels when traveling to Rome. My Dolce Vita platforms proved no match for the cobblestone streets and uneven pavement. That being said, of the cities I have visited while abroad I'm certain that Rome has been my favorite.

Holiday Spirit

With all the gloomy weather we've been having lately I saw no better opportunity to wear sequins and velvet today.  I have a feeling this isn't the first time I'll be wearing outfits like this as I'm already envisioning wearing it to holiday parties.  I went out for a day of shopping which turned into dinner and a show with friends.  We ended up getting a great student ticket deal and saw Wicked, which is officially my favorite musical...for now. I wore a Topshop top, Gap black velvet blazer, Current/Elliot jean leggings, H&M clutch and Liliana heels.

I'm off to Rome for until Sunday, what are your plans for the weekend?

Cape Fix

posted on: 11.16.2010

No cape?  No problem.  Though the cape has proved itself as a force to be reckoned with this fall, the latest trend on the streets has been wearing jackets as capes.  We can all call off the search for the perfect cape now, for we most likely already have more than a few sitting in our closets already.  Blazer, cardigan, military jacket or trench, it doesn't matter...this trend does not discriminate.

Holiday Gift Ideas

posted on: 11.15.2010

The holidays are my favorite time of the year without question.  I've never quite been able to put my finger on why that is, I just feel like it's so much about family and everyone is in good spirits.  With my finals being in mid-december and my sister's upcoming wedding I'm not messing around when I say I will be getting my holiday shopping done early this year.  I sometimes wish others just would follow my lead and make up a wish list of things they would love to receive, but I'm actually realizing it might be more fun to surprise them with my exciting finds.  Here are some gift ideas I think anyone would be happy to receive...

Back To Basics

I'm loving the simple chic that is Zara's November lookbook.  Though each outfit is relatively understated at first glance, each look emphasizes what I love most about Zara: their amazing basics.  Here are my favorite looks...
